· What it gives you

If you want every tool, dashboard and model to speak one business language,

A shared semantic layer that both your analysts and your applications query, so a metric means the same thing wherever it appears.

I The problem

Teams argue about numbers when they are really arguing about words. A shared vocabulary is the cheapest coherence an organisation can buy.

II Approach

  1. Harvest the terms a domain actually uses, from documents, systems and people.
  2. Arrange them into a taxonomy, then an ontology with explicit relationships and constraints.
  3. Bind each concept to the data fields and process steps that express it.
  4. Version the model so changes in meaning are visible and reviewable.
  5. Serve it as one semantic layer shared by DuckDB and Polars, carrying the meaning, structure, mind, decision and accountability model families.

III Structure

  1. TerminologyAgreed terms and definitions
  2. TaxonomyHierarchy and classification
  3. OntologyConcepts, relationships, constraints
  4. BindingsConcepts mapped to fields and process steps
  5. Model familiesMeaning · Structure · Mind · Decision · Accountability
